Berlin, May 15th 2019
With the established medical technology investor SHS Gesellschaft für Beteiligungsmanagement mbH, Betterguards has won another important strategic partner. The 1993 established SHS has already set up its fifth fonds for medical technology- and life-science-companies and supports the growth of its portfolio companies.
Beside the SHS the previous investors BFB Brandenburg Kapital (part of the Brandenburger Förderbank ILB) and Die BrückenKöpfe were participating in the growth financing of Betterguards.
The company uses the financing to fully automate and expand the production site in Brandenburg and thereby creates new jobs. In addition, Betterguards is investing into the development of the technology to ban joint injuries into history books. The Betterguards System combines a high protection and the freedom of motion and will be integrated into shoes and supports of different brands in the medical aids-, sports/leisure- and occupational health-business.
„We are very pleased to have another specialist of the medical technology- and health-market on board. Industry expertise and know-how of the SHS will help us to position our company even better into the healthcare market and fully exploit the growth potential of our platform technology“, says Vinzenz Bichler, founder and CEO of Betterguards.
Betterguards was founded by Vinzenz Bichler, Max Müseler and Timo Stumper from the Technical University (TU) in Berlin and currently consists of 14 employees. It is based in the Charlottenburg Innovation Center (CHIC). The production site with semi-automated production is located close to Berlin at the “Technologypark Hennigsdorf” in Brandenburg. Betterguards has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 (2015).
